Nature Photography day is celebrated on June 15th of every year. It was designed and started by NANPA (North American Nature Photography Association) to encourage the enjoyment of natural photography. With this special day it wanted to give an idea to the society that how can we protect the plants, forests, wildlife, landscapes and other natural resources. It started in the year of 2006 but now its popularity has been spread at national and international level. McGraw-Hills was the pioneer in publishing this in the list of important days, in its reference book Chases’s Calendar of Events. Since then several media and channels started noticing this day and people from many geographies started celebrating it in many innovative ways. It has got an international recognition also.
Nature Photography Day has been taken with open hearts in all parts of the world. On this special day people everywhere enjoy the holiday or weekend and go for travelling with a camera to do photography in gardens, parks, backyard, forests and other nearby places. In a pleasant day getting the fresh air and taking a ride with the soothing experience of photography have become very common on this day. With the help of various celebrations on the Nature Photography Day people feel connected to the cause of the event and they strive for the attainment of the pollution free climate.
NANPA is also promoting the Natural Photography Day with the help of social networking websites like face book, twitter etc. It has created a web page and on 15th June one can upload various photographs of landscape, natural beauty, and scenery. Although there is a limit on the number of photos one can upload on the Nature Photography Day page. Different events and campaign are also organized to promote the day. People do rallies on cycle, bikes, cars etc and enjoy the photography. Photography competitions are organized to attract maximum number of volunteer to the event. Generally registrations to such events are free of charge and any one can take part. Various agencies, botanical gardens and others come forward to sponsor the events in terms of space, resources, funds etc. In many locations people visit with their kids, grand children and demonstrate them how to do good photography with camera.
The Nature Photography Day has come up as a very important day across the globe. With the advent of industrialization and globalization many factories and industries have been set up. From these factories many forms of liquid, gases and material are released, which is polluting the whole environment in a very harmful way. Through this special day we try to encourage people to save the natural resources to control different types of pollution like air pollution, water pollution, soil pollutions and many others. Many countries have given it a national importance and included it in their holiday list also so that it can be celebrated in the most productive ways to achieve its goals.
