National Stress Awareness Day 2013

National Stress Awareness Day is celebrated on April 16th every year. Thus April is known as Stress Awareness Month.  Today there are umpteen numbers of reasons for a person to get stressed out. National Stress Awareness Day celebrations give an opportunity to be aware of plenty of stress in your life. April 16th is the day after taxes are due, hence got designated as Stress Awareness Day.  In UK, National Stress Awareness Day held in November is organized by the International Stress Management Association. The date might change every year.

National Stress Awareness Day History

The National Stress Awareness Day is sponsored by HRN, i.e., the Health Resource Network. This day began to be celebrated from 1992 onwards aiming at increasing the public awareness of the causes and cures of stress. This day gives everyone a chance to look at their stressful lives and teaches them how to deal with them in a healthy manner.

How to celebrate the day:

  • Have a look at your stressful life.
  • Even if you couldn’t get through your day doing all the things you have planned, don’t get tensed. If you could cover the important things, you are successful.
  • Think about stress relieving ways and spend the day with your loved ones which keeps you stress free.
  • Keep yourself free and cool doing nothing or just having fun at least once a year and enjoy.
