People in US celebrate the National Shrimp Day on May 10.
Shrimp, popularly known as the ‘Fruit of the Sea,’ is a favorite food for many. It is a versatile food item, which can be prepared in many ways, and can satisfy varied palates and appetite levels. Shrimp has good concentrations of protein and calcium. A bottom feeding crustacean, shrimp is a favorite food of whales and millions of people around the world. Most of these shrimp lovers would be more than happy to celebrate the National Shrimp Day on May 10.
Being a food holiday, there is no better way to celebrate this day than to eat lots of it. Some head to their favorite seafood restaurant (some even have shrimp specials on this day) and have special shrimp dishes. They might even try something that they have never tried before. Home cooks would find new recipes or make their favorite shrimp recipes. Some would have all-shrimp meals for the entire day (every dish of each meal will contain shrimp). Some restaurants or house parties might host shrimp eating competitions to see who can eat the fastest or who can eat the most.
