  • 1 package (10.75 ounces) cold pound cake, thawed, slash into 10 slices
  • 1 can (21 ounces) blueberry or strawberry pie filling
  • 1 tub (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 pints fresh strawberries, halved
  • 1/3 cup fresh blueberries, divided

Preparation

Line bottom of 12x8-inch sweltering dish with cake slices. Pinnacle by means of pie filling and whipped topping. Place strawberry halves and clean blueberries on whipped topping to make a flag design. Store at a low temperature until ready to serve. Makes 15 servings.

Red White and Blue Spinach Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 bag pre-cleaned spinach(or 1 lb. loose)
  • 1/4 lb. cup celery
  • 1 pear, peeled, trimmed and diced
  • 1/2 C. dried cranberries
  • 1/2 C. fresh blueberries
  • 2 Tbs. evaporated milk
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • dash sugar

Directions

Lightly pitch the initial five ingredients together. Set aside. Unite the evaporated milk, lemon juice, salt, pepper and sugar together and pour over salad ingredients. Toss lightly and serve.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. blue corn tortilla chips
  • 16 oz. can refried beans
  • 1 whole diced tomato
  • 1/3 C. chopped white onion
  • 1 chopped Serrano chili pepper or other hot pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1/2 C. shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese

Directions

Heat up refried beans. Combine diced tomato, onion, chili pepper and lemon juice in a tiny bowl. Arrange chips on a large portion platter. Spoon hot refried beans over chips; pinnacle with tomato mixture. Shake over cheese over all. Serve immediately.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 C. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 envelope Fleischmann's RapidRise Yeast
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 C. water
  • 1/4 C. butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Cream Cheese Topping
  • Granola
  • Blueberries, sliced strawberries
  • Miniature marshmallows

Directions

In a huge bowl, join 2/3 C. flour, sugar, un-dissolved yeast, and salt. Heat water and butter until very tepid. Slowly add to flour blend. Beat 2 minutes at average speed, scraping bowl sporadically. Stir in vanilla and enough residual flour to make soft dough. Massage on lightly floured surface until smooth and stretchy, about 6 to 8 minutes. Cover let rest 10 minutes. Roll dough to 12 x 10-inch rectangle; Prick surface of dough arbitrarily with fork; let rest 10 minutes. Cook in the oven at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden. Remove from sheet; cold on wire stand. When completely cooled, increase cream cheese topping onto coating to within 1/2 inch of edge; shake over with granola. Assemble fruits and marshmallows over top to look like the U.S. flag. Serve punctually after topping and refrigerate leftovers.

Cream Cheese Topping:

In a small bowl, combine 1 (3-oz.) package cream cheese, softened; 1/4 C. sour cream, 1/4 C. sugar, and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.

Tools and Materials

  • 9 1/2-by-12 1/2-creep oval incomplete wood plaque wood shims
  • 2 clamps fabric measuring ribbon pencil masking ribbon drill with-inch bit
  • 220-grit sandpaper
  • 1 quart exterior primer
  • 1 quart exterior paint

4-inch metal house numbers with mounting screws five 4-by-6-inch flags with -inch dowels, each 10 inches long.

Directions

  • Sandwiching the plaque between shims to protect it, fasten it to the rim of a table. Use a fabric measuring tape and a pencil to make marks each 3 inches down the top half of the outer edge.
  • Wrap a piece of masking tape approximately the drill small piece inch from its end. At every pencil mark, drill a hole into the rim of the plaque, stopping when the tape meets the plaque.
  • Sand, prime, and cover the plaque; let it dehydrated. Mount the house information on the plaque using screws. Dangle it, and then trip the flags into the holes

  • 1 loaf (10-3/4 oz.) frozen pound cake, thawed
  • 1/2 C. blueberry pie filling
  • 1/2 C. strawberry or raspberry pie filling
  • 1-3/4 C. whipped topping

Directions

Split cake level into three layers. Place base layer on a portion platter, spread with blueberry filling. Top with middle cake layer, spread with strawberry filling. Replace top of cake. Rime top and sides with whipped topping. Refrigerate for more than a few hours before slicing. Yield: 8 servings.
