It’s time to let go and be a part of the 5 day celebrations of St. Patrick’s Day. The street parade which literally transports you all the way to Ireland with celebrations that extends into the wee hours of the night bag pipes and whisky is truly Irish in its essence.
In any American city which has a large Irish population, St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated with much enthusiasm. Well, the streets literally go green and gold with parades, accompanied by Irish music, bagpipes and songs. And when you are hungry, you would be served true Irish food with Guinness.
You see only one color in the streets – green. And the five day celebrations culminate in the annual parade that would meander down King Street in Wilmington. The St. Patrick’s Day parade would begin around noon at Fourth Street and would sing and dance away to glory to reach the King Street.
The day also denotes the unofficial beginning of spring. And this year it being a Sunday, it’s going to be one hell of a party in Delaware on St. Patrick’s Day!
