Bastille Day Events 2016

The Bastille Day celebrations begin with the start of the French Revolution on 14th July annually. Bastille Day is the name given to English speaking countries which is so called French National Day.

In France it is formally called La Fete nationale and commonly known as Le quatorze juillet. The French National Day is celebrated on 14th July throughout France and known as the longest & oldest military Parade in Europe. The Parade is held at Champs-Elysees in Paris and organized in front of the President of the Republic, foreign guest and Officials. The Bastille Day is celebrated in major cities around the world such as Los Angeles, Sydney, Melbourne, London and New York City. The respective cities honor the day with events to celebrate and show respect towards the Bastille Day.

The 2015 the Bastille Day events represent the storming of Bastille prison to release political prisoners in the year 1789. Families, friends and foreigners gather near the Eiffel Tower, Saint Germain des Prez and Montparnasse for views of firework that dazzle the City of Light as a part of the Bastille day events in Paris.

Previous day of Bastille in Paris, people from all over the city dress up in costumes for dancing and music gather at the Bal Du 14 Juillet. The Parisians stand by the Champs-Elysees to honor the French Military for the annual Military parade.

The celebration of Bastille Day in France starts with decorated soldiers and marching bands on the streets and you could view the colors on the French flag in the sky above the Champs-Elysees.

Celebrations and Events that attract the People in France:

  1. Military Parade on the Avenue Des Champs-Elysees

  2. July 14th Firework Display on Eiffel Tower that last long for 35 mins and Begins at 11:00 P.M.

  3. Fire’s man Ballin the fire station that start at 9:00 P.M. to 4 P.M. With an entry fee or “Barrel” would be left out for the people who wish to make donations for the working staff.
