St Patrick’s Day is a feast day celebrating the date of the Saint Patrick’s death in 1737, and takes place on 17th of March every year. Even though it is not a national holiday in United States people celebrate this special day with great Irish spirit, shamrocks, green color and good luck. Every year St Patrick’s Day parade takes place on the earlier weekend of March 17.
Almost all the big cities of Arizona where Irish population is huge commemorate the day with parades, traditional Irish foods and drinks, music, dancing etc. Participating in St Patrick’s Day parade is an awesome experience especially in phoenix where thousands of spectators stand in a line to watch the spectacular big paddy parade.
The purpose of this St Patrick’s Day parade is to protect and enhance the Irish culture and tradition and share the same experience with the citizens of Arizona. The day signifies original Christian saint’s feast day and gives message to every individual for spiritual renewal and missionary prayers.
On the day of parade, almost all the downtown streets in Arizona witness marching bands, musicals, floats, Irish step dancers, celebrity look-alikes and other fun filled activities. Big cities and small towns alike celebrate this festivity with great enthusiasm & togetherness and spread the color of green everywhere.
