Ariel Sharon

Ariel Sharon was the former Prime Minister of Israel and a military leader. He has been ranked as one of the most powerful leaders in the history of Israel. He was the one who successfully removed the tension between Gaza and Israel by removing his soldiers from the same. Before Ariel Sharon became PM he was chosen to be the minister of Defence. Later he formed his own political party named Kadima and with the majority of votes he was elected as the PM. But due to his ill health recently he has been avoiding to be a part of politics and especially after he slipped into coma in the year 2006.

Birth Details

Ariel Sharon was born in the year 1928 on 26th February in Kfar Malal a British Mandate of Palestine. He was the second child of Litvish Jews Shumel Sheinerman and Dvora. He had an elder sister named Yehudit. 

Personal Biography

Ariel Sharon had showed his fondness of military services at a very early age and thus joined the youth movement Zionist at the age of 10. In the year 1942 he had joined the Gadna a parliamentary youth battalion and Haganah an underground force. During the year 1952 and 1953 Sharon studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Ariel Sharon married twice and had been widowed twice. His first marriage took place while he was serving as a military instructor. His first wife died due to a car accident and after that he married her younger sister. Sharon has three kids one from the first wife and two from the second wife.

During 2004 -05 Sharon suffered some bad phases in his health. He had a minor ischemic stroke on 18th December and a month later on 4th January, he suffered a hemorrhagic. In the year 2006 Ehud Olmert was elected as an official PM in his place.

Career

Ariel Sharon had always fancied military life and thus he was the part of many activist group from the age of 10. He has also contributed major part of his life in Politics. His career journey can be summed in the following points:

  1. In 1942 he joined the parliamentary youth battalion
  2. He soon became the company commander of the same battalion
  3. Sharon was later promoted to be the intelligence officer for central command
  4. The massacre of Qibya took place under his leadership.
  5. Later he resigned from the post of defence minister and entered the cabinet without any portfolio till 1984.
  6. He took charge of some minister ship such as Trade & Industry, Housing & Finance
  7. He became the 11th PM in February
