Anzac Day Food Ingredients:

  • 3 cups self raising flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 90g (30 oz) butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • extra flour

Anzac Day Food Method:

Sift flour and salt into bowl, rub in butter until blend resembles well bread crumbs, quite flat in size. Add united water with milk all at once; mix lightly with a sharp knife in an acerbic motion. Turn out on to a flippantly floured board; knead a little. Press dough into a in a circle, place on greased oven tray. Pat dough away in to a 15 cm circle. With a pointed knife, cut 2 slits crossways dough, like a cross, approximately 1 cm (1/2 in) deep. Brush peak of dough with milk, sieve a little additional flour on the top of the dough. Bake in a hot oven for 10 min or until golden brown, reduce heat to reasonable, cook a more 15 min.

Anzac Day Food Ingredients:

Filling:

  • 1 1/2 lb steak; minced
  • 1 ts soy sauce
  • 2 beef stock cubes
  • salt and pepper for flavour
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  • 2 tb Flour
  • 1/4 cups water; (extra if needed)

Pie base:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 oz beef drippings

Pie top:

  • 1 packet puff pastry; (12 oz. size)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon water

Anzac Day Food Method:

Making the filling:

Place meat into a pan, mix meat in excess of low heat until well brown.Drain of any extra fat. Insert the 2 crumbled store cubes, and then put in the pepper, nutmeg and salt, water. Mix until hot when boiled decrease heat,cover, simmer gently for 20 minutes, and remove from heat.Combine more water and flour, stir until flour mixture is smooth. Add flour blend to meat, stir until combined. Return to heat up, combine dig the meat boils and thickens. Add soy sauce, stir until mutual. Simmer open, 5 to 10 min, take away from heat allow rotating into cold.

Making the pie base:
 
Sift flour and salt addicted to basin. Place water and soaked into saucepan, mix until dripping melts, take away from heat. Make a well in centre of dry ingredients, add liquid, and mix until joint. If you are in a hurry use pre made (brought) pastry. Revolve out onto flippantly floured surface, knead lightly. Roll out pie to line 8 greased pie tins. Cut surplus pastry off from around the rim with a sharp knife.

Pie crust:

Roll out puff pastry on a flippantly floured surface, cut out the rounded tops for the pies, use a saucer as guide. Wet edges of pastry, and softly with a folk press pastry into place, neat edges. Mix egg yolk and water together and lightly stretch over the top.

Cooking the pies:

Bake in an oven for 5 min or until golden brown, decrease heat to a moderate temperature heat for another ten minutes.

Anzac Day Food Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 34 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 34 cup of coconut
  • 1 tablespoon of golden syrup
  •  125 grams of butter
  • 1 12 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tablespoons of boiling water

Anzac Day Food Method:

  • Mix the flour, sugar and coconut in a mixing bowl.
  • In a small saucepan, dissolve golden syrup and butter over mild heat.
  • Mix bicarbonate of soda and hot water in a cup. Add to the saucepan and  remove from the heat.
  • Pour this mix into the bowl of dried up ingredients. Stir to mix.
  • Grease a boiling dish with butter. Place tiny spoons of the blend onto the tray.
  • Bake in an oven at 150 degrees for 20 min otherwise until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool prior to removing from tray.
  • Store in a biscuit tin. Makes an immense snack for after school and play lunch

Coconut Ice Coconut Ice

Anzac Day Food Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 6 Tablespoons desiccated coconut
  • 1 pinch cream of tartar
  • 1 drop red food colouring optional

Anzac Day Food Method:

Place sugar and milk in a pan. Mix until dissolved, add cream of tartar. Bring to boil. Remove from temperature and mix until blend begins to condense and turn white. Add coconut. Put on top of greased square pan. Chill and slice into squares. Optional: Pour a drop of red food colouring into 1/2 of the blend to attain a pink colour. Drizzle melted chocolate over if preferred add strawberries and enjoy.

Anzac Day Food Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats (NOT quick cook oats)
  • 1 cup plain flour (NOT self-rising) (I, of course, use spelt flour)
  • 1 cup sugar (white or half white, half brown)
  • 3/4 cup desiccated coconut
  • 4 oz / 125g butter
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tablespoon boiling water

Anzac Day Food Method:

Combine oats, sifted flour, sugar and coconut in a large basin. In a pan, melt butter and golden syrup in surplus of a mild heat. Mix bicarb soda with boiling water, add to melted butter mixture and put in this to the dry ingredients. Stir until combined.  Take teaspoonfuls of blend and put on a flippantly greased oven tray, allow room for dispersal. Cook in a measured oven 150degC / 300degF for 20 minutes. Loosen while warm, and then cold on trays. If you leave them a minute longer, they’ll be crisper. Makes about 35.

Anzac Day Food Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • large cup of assorted fruit or dates or seeded raisins.

Anzac Day Food Method

Cream curbing and sugar, add compressed eggs. Mix all dry ingredients and add to mixture, be supposed to be steadiness of scone mix. Roll out in lengths about 6 inches to 1 1/2 inches in width. Wrap in greaseproof paper independently and place in refrigerator for at least 24 hrs. Mixture will remain in fridge for at least 3 weeks with no cooking. Slash in rounds of about 1/2 inch broad, put on flat thin dish and cook as essential in a moderate oven 10-15 mins.
