On the 4th of July 1776 America adopted the Declaration of Independence by which they freed themselves from all the ropes of colonial rule tying them up. On this day the state became a democracy of its own and started to go on with its dream of a free and independent country.
Today, the colony of America which was under the rule of Great Britain is a powerful and leading country all on its own due to the unity and determination of the people and the independent government. The independence day of America or the birthday of America is most commonly called the Fourth of July based on the day on which the declaration of independence was signed. This secular holiday is celebration with lot of enthusiasm and love for the country. The day is celebrated with tasty food, activities, games and parades.

Get a 6 pound boned and butter flied lamb leg clean it and wipe it dry. Dust the lamb with a bit of flour and salt all over and keep it aside. Now you have to prepare the barbecue mix; getting the correct mix makes your barbecued meat perfect and tasty.
Take a medium sized mixing bowl and mix 3 to 4 table spoon of tomato ketchup, 2 table spoon of Worcestershire sauce, two teaspoon of soya sauce, 3 table spoon of olive oil, one to two table spoons of dry mustard, half a table spoon of red cayenne pepper, 10 cloves of chopped garlic and a small handful of chopped parsley leaves. Mix in all the ingredients and add to it add the juice of one medium lemon. Last but not the least, add salt to taste; remember that the sauces have a bit of salt and always add lesser amount of salt if you are using soya sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
Marinate the lamb leg with this mix and keep overnight to let the meat absorb the flavor and aroma of all the ingredients. Cook it over a hot grill and brush in a bit of the marinating mix every now and olive oil and then while cooking. If you don’t have any leftover marinate, brushing with oil will do. Cook for 3 to 5 hours and cook evenly on every side. Never cook on very high temperature as it will give an undercooked and bitter meat.

This saucy tender chicken barbecue is too tasty and you will love yourself for preparing it.
In a cooking pan take 3 tablespoon of butter and sauté a large diced onion and three cloves of chopped garlic till the onion become translucent. Add 3 tablespoon f water and half a cup of brown sugar and let it simmer for one to two minutes. Into it mix 3/4 cups of ketchup, 2 table spoon of Worcestershire sauce, 2 table spoon of white vinegar, one table spoon of prepared Dijon mustard and 4 table spoon of orange juice. Mix everything and cook it over a medium flame and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes till the sauce gets a bit thick and the flavor gets mixed in. apply the sauce on the chicken piece and keep it for 10 minutes.
While grilling apply the sauce lavishly onto the chicken pieces after every few minutes or when you feel the need of it. Hot barbecue chicken is ready to eat within an hour.
This tasty potato salad is the best companion for your grilled chicken and barbecued lamb. This colorful tasty salad is very rich in fiber.
Cook four to six small potatoes in a sauce pan with water for 15 minutes. Drain and cool it before dicing. In a salad bowl mix one to 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise, one large chopped onion, half a cup of chopped tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, red bell pepper, fresh green peas and cabbage and at last the cooked potatoes. To it add salt, pepper and olive oil and toss the salad to mix well. If you like eggs, you can add 2 hard boiled and chopped eggs into your salad. Refrigerate the salad and add a few tablespoon of milk to get the correct consistency. Add two or three stalks of freshly chopped celery and serve it with the meat.
This is going to be a hit with children and grownups. Try this out at the hot sun and feel yourself melt in the taste of it. Chop strawberry and blueberries and add some powdered sugar and a bit vanilla into it. Toss it well and refrigerate for a few hours. Into a long serving glass add one or two table spoon of chilled strawberry black berry mix. Then onto it add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, then comes the fruit layer. Top this layer with strawberry ice cream and then again with the fruit mix and at last with a bit of black current ice cream. Serve it with a bit of crushed roasted cashew nuts or peanuts and add a piece each of fresh blueberry and strawberry at the top. If you don’t like the taste of blue berry, try it with black current or grapes.

Squeeze in two or three lime and take its juice. Crush a small piece of ginger and some leaves of mint leaves and take around one table spoon of juice from each of it.
Mix the lemon juice, and ginger mint mix into a large bowl and add a glass of water and half to one cup of water and mix well and drain off any seeds or mint leaves from it. Now add five glasses of chilled water, mix and serve it with ice cubes.
