Shavuot 2009

Shavuot is considered a Jewish holiday. Shavuot celebrates on the 6th day of Hebrew month of Sivan. The Shavuot celebrates the anniversary of the day of God who gave the 10 Directives to Moses and Israelites at the Mount Sinai. And it is one of shalosh regalim, the three Biblical pilgrimage carnivals. Shavuot marks the termination of the Counting of the Omer.

The date of the Shavuot is openly connected to that of Passover. And the Torah consents 7-week Counting of the Omer, opening on the 2nd day of the Passover and instantly followed through Shavuot. Giving of the Torah

Mostly Talmudic Sages agree that the Torah was specified on the 6th of Sivan; R. Jose seizes that it was specified on the 7th of that month. In accordance with the traditional timeline, the Israelites inwards at the wilds of Sinai on the new moon and also the Ten Commandments were specified on the next Shabbat. A car crash was occurred in the NASCAR Sprint Series car race on Sunday 26 April, 2009. Carl Edwards was driven his car #99 Claritin Ford, with an aggressive driving. The car was flicked in the air above 15 feet in NASCAR Sprint Series race in final lap at the Talladega Speedway. There are seven persons including two women are inured in the car crash.

Dr. Bobby Lewis, the track’s medical director, describe the minor injuries, “Mostly bumps, bruises, contusions and possible fractures.” Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt Jr. were involved in this crash. The incident occurred at the ending line of the final lap. Carl Edwards and Keselowski were paced quickly than Ryan Newman and Earnhardt. Carl Edwards tried to obstruct the Keselowski’s car. When Carl Edwards’ car was flicked on Newman’s car and dashed into the protective fence. Keselowski tactically escaped from the Edward’s car crash and won the race.

Carl Edwards was jumped from the car window and run away across the finish line after his car spinning. Kelelowski says after winning the race at Talladega, “If we would have run all races without a single lap of contact, everyone in the media center would have wrote about how boring of a race it was, and instead we ran one of the best races you could ever watch on TV with full contact the whole time. Thankfully, no one did get seriously injured, and I do want to emphasize that—I’m thankful for that.”

This was the third crash on Sunday in that race. There are no drivers or people were injured in other incidents. NASCAR is searching the track to make a decision for another safety measures will be created at the speedway race.

• 250g (8oz) flour
• Pinch salt
• 3 eggs
• Up to 600ml (1pt) milk or half milk/half water
• 30g (1oz) lard or pork fat
• 500g (1lb) pork sausages

Mix flour and salt, make a fit in the centre and shatter theegg into it. Add a little milk. Beginning at the centre, stir these ingredientsinto a pound, slowly pouring in the remainder of the milk, or milk and water,until the assault is of a creamy but pouring consistency. Separate the porksausages and cook them for five minutes rapidly in the fat in a hot pan. Strainoff the fat into a big roasting pan, pour in a slim layer of beat and bake inthe oven for five minutes at mark 7, 220°C, 425°F so that it sets. Place thesausages on top and dispense over the rest of the batter. Bake for a more 30-35minutes until the beat has out of breath up and browned. Serve immediately.

• 1 large onion, chopped
• 3 cloves garlic, chopped
• 3 tbsp oil
• 500g (1lb) beef, chuck or shin, minced or leanlamb
• 1 tbsp tomato concentrate
• 150 ml (quarter pin) dry white wine
• 300ml (half pint) beef stock
• 3 heaped tsp of cornflour
• Salt, freshly-ground black pepper
• 1-1.5 kilos (2-3lb) potatoes
• 90g (3oz) butter
• 300ml (half pint) milk
• 30g (1oz) grated cheese, preferably Cheddar
• 1 tbsp grated Parmesan

Cook onion and garlic in the oil until squashy. Raise heatand add crushed meat, rousing it about until it’s nicely browned. Mix intomato, wine and semi the stock. Slake cornflower with residual stock, and decantinto the pan. Season and simmer for ten minutes enclosed. Pour off any extrafat. Stew the potatoes in their skins, peel and crush them with butter, milk.

Put the crushed meat into one large or a number of small individual pots, and wrapit with the mashed potato. Fork the potato up and sprinkle it with cheese. Bakefor 10 min at spot 6, 200°C and cook in the oven for a further 45 min. If more suitable,shepherds pie can be parched for an even longer time at a lower temperature tosuit your expediency.

• 500g (1lb) dried split peas or whole dried peas
• 60g (2oz) butter
• 1 large egg
• Salt, pepper

• 125 g (4oz) icing sugar or pale brown sugar
• 2 egg yolks
• 1 tbsp rum (optional)
