David Roland Cook was born on 20th December, 1982. He is an American rock singer and lyrics-writer. He won the seventh season ‘American Idol’ reality television show.

David Cook was born in Houston, Texas. He has grown in Blue Springs, Missouri. He is the mid-child of the three. He has to brothers, Adam and Andrew. Presently, he is living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His father is Beth Frye and mother is Stanley. He is interested in music. At 12th year, he got first guitar ‘Fender Stratocaster’.

David Cook joined in Blue Springs South High School. He showed his musical performance there. He played the songs ‘The Music Man’, ‘West Side Story’, and ‘Singin in the Rain’. On the other hand, he was an active member of NFL (National Forensics League) in the Blue Springs South High School. He also plays baseball very well. He received a theater scholarship and also graduated in ‘Graphic Design’ from the University of Central Missouri in 2006. Cook was also a member of Phi Sigma Kappa.

He has shown his memorial inscription in the episode of American Idol, which was broadcasted on April 1st, 2009.

David Cook in the Race for Hope - DC

On May 3, 2009, David announced his support the “Race for Hope-DC – 5k run” in Washington, in respect of his brother. And he requested the populace to take a part in the race and also to contribute.His younger brother Adam struggled with brain cancer, and died at the age of 11. He completed the 5k run within 28 minutes. He told that he will organize the program every year for the honour of his brother. His team gained about $98,000 for the foundation. He thanked (He has given a statement on his website) the public and fans for the support and contributions in the ‘Race for Hope - 5k run’ in Washington DC as well as the concern showed towards the brain cancer struggling patients.

David Cook said, "I decided to run in the race for two reasons". "First, my brother never wanted his illness to affect others. That was evident in the fact that he wanted his illness to have no part in my experience on Idol, a point he was quite adamant about....Secondly, there are many people who are still battling, and by running and sharing my brother's story, I hope that it offers those still fighting that much more resolve to not succumb to this wretched disease."

David Cook also thanked everybody, those who supported and participated in 5k run at the Race for Hope-DC. He will continue his tour as per schedule (with the exemption of the May 6 show in Toledo, Ohio). He assured that he would "do everything possible to reschedule."
