Sarah Clarke is the daughter of Ernest Clarke, an engineer and Carolyn, a homemaker.

Sarah Clarke joined the Indiana University, at where Sarah Clarke studied Italian and Fine Arts. During the student of IU, Sarah Clarke became an associate of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Sarah was instigated into Beta chapter in 1990.
