Danny Boyle who is a director as well as the producer of best films like Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days later, Sunshine, and Trainspotting is born on 20 October 1956 in Radcliffe Lancashire in an Irish Catholic family.
Danny Boyle completed his studies at the “Thornleigh Salesian College” in Bolton and at the “University of Whales” in Bangor. Danny Boyle started his career as an animator for SSC Northern Shahdol in 1980. Before directing the shows like “Arise and Go Now”, “Not Even God is Wise Enough”, “For the Greater Good”, “Scout” Danny Boyle was responsible for producing the TV films and the BBC2 series Mr. Wroe’s Virgins.
In 1982 Danny Boyle was an artistic director with the Joint Stock Theatre Company and then as deputy director with the Royal Court Theatre from 1985 to 1987. During this period Danny Boyle directed the five productions for the Shakespeare Company and one of the productions “Saved” also won the Time Out award.
“Shallow Grave” which was the first directorial debut feature film made by Danny Boyle received the great success even after it was made on a small scale. After “Shallow Grave” Danny Boyle made another film “Trainspotting” which was based on the novel by “Irvine Welsh”. Due to the success of this film it was considered as the iconic British Films of the 1990 and also Danny Boyle was offered a production deal by the US studio. Unfortunately Danny Boyle declined this offer to direct his fourth film of the Alien franchise.
After this Danny Boyle made the two movies “The Beach” and “28 Days Later” which was a horror movie. In 2001 Danny Boyle directed another two movies “Vacuuming Completely nude in Paradise” and “Strumpet” for the BBC. “Alien Love Triangle” starring Kenneth Branagh was one of the short films directed by Boyle.
In 2004 Danny Boyle made the film “Millions” and in 2007 the science fiction film called “Sunshine” was directed by him. Last year Danny Boyle directed a movie “Slumdog Millionaire” which is the story of an impoverished child who wants to be a millionaire.
Danny Boyle forthcoming films are “Ponte tower” and “Solomon Grundy”.
Danny Boyle won the “Golden Globe” award and the best director award from the director’s guild of America for the film “Slumdog millionaire” and also received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Director for the same film.
