Jonathan Mortimer Smith, well known through his stage name Lil Jon, an American rapper, composer, promoter, and producer was born on 27th January, 1971 in Atlanta, Georgia. Lil Jon is popular as the pioneer of hip hop sub-genre Crunk.

Private life

Lil Jon graduated from the Douglass High School in 1989. Lil Jon worked for the So So Def between 1993 and 2000.

Lil Jon is a big admirer of Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL and composes a blog on Atlanta Thrashers goalie Kari Lehtonen and has a picture of Lil his back of helmet.Lil Jon has his personal energy drink, called CRUNK! and also has his private line of Oakley Sunglasses.

Lil Jon states that he "was inspired by the synthesizer sounds of rave/dance music he heard playing in Atlanta strip clubs."

Lil Jon completed his graduation in 1988 from the Atlanta's Douglass High School. Lil Jon was doing a job as a club DJ when Jermaine Dupri called him to work as an A&R man for So So Def. Lil Jon hosted a show on the V103. Lil Jon began doing the remixes for artist Too Short, Total, Xscape, and Usher.

In the year of 1996, Lil Jon connected with Lil Bo and Big Sam, communally known as The East Side Boyz, to generate the album Get Crunk, Who U Wit: Da Album. And this enclosed the song "Who You Wit" that became the club anthem in Atlanta.

He & East Side Boyz came back in 2001 with Put Your Hood Up. And "Bia Bia" the solo from a album featuring Ludacris, and Chyna Whyte became the hit in clubs all through the US and made the top twenty downloads on

In the year of 2002, he & East Side Boyz unconfined their penetrate album Kings of Crunk. And the foremost single, "I Don't Give a " featuring Krayzie Bone and Mystical, became a new dance floor space filler.On the other hand, it was "Get Low" with Ying Yang Twins and its beguiling hook "from the window to the wall" which became a running away hit. And it reached at the top 5 in fused global R&B chart (collected from German, U.S., UK, French, and Australian R&B charts) in 2003 and the internet download charts. And it went into top 40 in marketplaces such as Australia and Germany in 2004. And based on the achievement of “Get Low”, Kings of Crunk would craft the top 20 of US album chart in September 2003. He put out a collection CD and DVD in 2003 named Part II featuring remixes of "Get Low" featuring Elephant Man and Busta Rhymes with theYing Yang Twins. Lil Jon also made the hit solo "Salt Shaker" for Ying Yang Twins.

In late 2003, the Usher asked Lil Jon to create and come out on "Yeah" the lead solo from his Confessions album. And the track became the biggest hit of the year of 2004, and topping the Billboard Hot 100, US, World, European, and World R&B charts, Australian, Norwegian, World Adult, and Swiss charts and reached at the number 2 in Canada.

Recently Lil Jon has unconfined his latest album named Crunk Juice, which features aids from R. Kelly, Rick Rubin, Ludacris, Ice Cube, Usher, and Timbaland, and the Double-CD Crunk Juice comprises the remixes of Daddy Yankee's Reggae ton hit "Gasoline," with skits from comedian Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle. Lil Jon also worked with Korn for the track on their next album for free in 2005.
