Early life of John Michael Stipe

Michael Stipe was a military brat. And his father does a job in United States Army. Michael Stipe and his family shifted to several locales throughout his childhood, comprised Georgia, Illinois, Texas, Alabama and Germany. He completed his graduation from the Collinsville High School in 1978. He registered at University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, as an art major, studying painting and photography.Formation of R.E.M.After joining college in Athens, he repeated the Wuxtry record shop at where Michael met the store clerk Peter Buck in 1980. Buck recalled, "Michael Stipe was a striking-looking guy and he also bought weird records, which not everyone in the store did". They became friends. They decided to produce a band. And xthey also began writing music. But Michael passed time in neighboring group named Gangster. They were joined through Mike Mills and Bill Berry and also named themselves R.E.M., and a name Michael chose at casual from the directory.

These 4 members of R.E.M. left school in 1980 to concentrate on the band. And the band made its debut single, "Radio Free Europe", on Hib-Tone. R.E.M. unconfined its debut album Murmur in 1983, which was commonly acclaimed through critics. Michael’s lyrics and vocals received particular concentration from the listeners. And in the year of 1995 Michael was on the wrap of Out Magazine. He depicted himself as a "queer artist" in Time Magazine in 2001. He gave a statement that Michael had been attached with "amazing man" for three years. Michael was featured on the wrap of BUTT Magazine in 2003.

Michael had planned partnership with Nirvana's Kurt Cobain in 1994. He did not handle to record or compose anything prior to the bereavement of Cobain. Michael was selected as a godfather of Courtney Love's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain and Kurt Cobain.ichael was very attached with colleague singer Natalie Merchant.
