BIRTHDAYS: David William (Birthday 7th August), Famous American Actor, Biography of David William on Career, Personal Life, Achievements

David William Duchovny was born in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, on the 7th August 1960. His parents are Margaret Duchovny and Amram Ducovny. Amram belongs to Brooklyn in New York and Margaret, who is often referred as Meg is from Scotland. David William has an elder brother Danny and a younger sister Laurie. David William father was a reporter in the Middle East and Europe and later on became a publicist for the American Jewish Committee. Amram's family was Russian Jews.

After David William's parents separated when David William was eleven, his mother Meg had to get a job to maintain her children. She became a tutor at a local school. David William's brother Danny became a TV commercial director and his sister Laurie followed in her mother's track and became a teacher too.

David William Education

David William joined The Collegiate School for Boys in Manhattan and in the end graduated from Princeton University. Duchovny went on to learn at Princeton University in New Jersey in the U.S. David William selected subject at Princeton was English. Duchovny performed excellent over there and won a scholarship to Yale University in Connecticut, U.S. David William holds a Master's degree in English Literature from Yale University and began work on a Ph.D. that remains uncompleted.

David William Early Career

David William's earliest profession as an actor was a commercial for a beer. David William got paid twice his annual income as a teacher for those little minutes of acting. It was his companion Jason Beghe who advised him to try acting as David William had just started acting himself. It was in 1987 that David William determined to cal off his Ph.D. and departs Yale to peruse acting full time. This was precipitated by David being given a role in a new Henry Jaglom film called 'New Years Day'. David William performed the role of Billy a man at the New Year's party, the setting of the whole film. Billy is there to win back his ex-girlfriend earlier than she leaves. David William fails however, she chucked him out naked after she catches him in bed with her pal. The entire film was improvised by the actors. This was David William debut movie role and the film was released in 1989.

The X Files

David William had wanted to be a film star, but one day his manager sent him a script of a pilot for a new TV show. David William wasn't fascinated in doing a television series but decided to do this pilot anyhow as it was a brilliant script. David William was convinced that the show would not take off and so did not fret about it being a lasting job. Little did David William know that seven and even eight years on, David William would still be performing the part of Fox Mulder on 'The X Files'

David William was a simple selection for Chris Carter for the character of Mulder as David William crafted the idea Carter had in his mind flawlessly. During the audition for the role of Mulder, David auditioned Gillian Anderson as well. When Carter saw them jointly David William decided they worked well as a group and then cast them in their now renowned characters.

After five unbeaten seasons of 'The X Files', Carter decided to shoot a movie of 'The X Files'. Writing the script for the film was a difficult thing for Carter as David William had to make the film reachable to both fans of the show and a wider viewing public. This David William dealt with success.

After the film 'The X Files' went to its sixth sequence, continuing from where the film was ended. Subsequent to a seventh series Duchovny decided David William wanted to leave the show and focus on his film vocation. David William was convinced to stay for season eight, but had a much compact role in the show. David William then left in total and the ninth and final series only saw him in one episode, the season and sequence climax.

David William Marriage and Children

David William wedded Tea Leoni on the 6th of May 1997. Tea Leoni is also an actress. Tea Leoni starred in Bad Boys, Deep Impact and Jurassic Park III and also had Tea Leoni individual TV show, The Naked Truth.

Throughout the seventh season of 'The X Files' Tea made a guest appearance in an episode called 'Hollywood A.D.' Tea Leoni performed the role of Scully in a film version of 'The X Files' in the episode. Mulder was played by Garry Shandling. In a humorous bend at the climax of the film, Tea's Scully admits to Shandling's Mulder that Tea Leoni is in reality in love with A.D. Skinner. The name of the movie was 'The Lazarus Bowl'.

David William and Tea Leoni have two kids, a daughter and a son. Leoni gave birth to a daughter, Madelaine West Duchovny. Their second kid, a son, Kyd Miller Duchovny, was born 15 Th June, 2002. The Duchovnys resides in Malibu, California.
