Abhinav Singh Bindra an Indian shooter. Abhinav Bindra was born on 28th September, 1982 in Zirakpur, Mohali, Punjab. Abhinav Bindra has become the recent world and Olympic winner in the 10 m Air Rifle event. Abhinav Bindra awarded the gold in the 10m Air Rifle event at 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Abhinav Bindra is a First Indian to award an individual Gold Medal at the Olympics Games. In 1980 India got the first gold medal when the Men's Field Hockey Team prevail the gold.

Abhinav Bindra belongs to rich Sikh family. His father, Dr. Apjit and mother Babli Bindra, are advertiser of the Hitech Group of companies. And the group has an income of 300 crores rs. Abhinav Bindra is a 5th generation inheritor of well known Sikh warrior Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa on the side of his mother. Abhinav Bindra has one sister-Divya. She is a fashion designer and got wedded into the family that has Atlas Cycles (Haryana).

At the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, Abhinav Bindra won the Bronze in the Singles event and the Gold in the Pairs event. And Abhinav Bindra overlooked the 2006 Asian Games at Doha due to a back injury.

Abhinav Bindra booked his position in 2008 Olympics through winning gold medal at the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships with the score of 699.1

At 2008 Beijing Olympics, Abhinav Bindra won the gold for the Men's 10m Air Rifle ending after shooting a sum of 700.5. Abhinav Bindra made the score 596 in the succeeding round and out-scored all new shooters in the final with a surrounding of 104.5. In the last, Abhinav Bindra began with the shot of 10.7; none of his shots were under 10.0. Abhinav Bindra was joined with Henri Häkkinen heading into his last shot. Abhinav Bindra made his highest score in the final- 10.8 whilst Häkkinen made 9.7 score to resolve for the Bronze medal. Abhinav Bindra again achieved the gold despite his gun being supposedly fiddled with.

It was India’s initial individual gold medal at the Olympics. And this was the primary gold in 28 years, as the Men's Field Hockey team achieved the gold at 1980 Moscow Olympics. Abhinav Bindra was rewarded through diverse Indian state govt. and private associations for his accomplishment.
