Tony Hawk is one of the greatest American skateboarders in the history of the sport. Tony Hawk showed his first skills on a board at the age of nine. Since then Tony Hawk has persistently challenged the sport. Tony Hawk is known for the discovery of many tricks for aerial skateboard like Stalefish, Mc Hawk and Madonna. Tony Hawk invented and introduced over 80 other tricks. The most famous being the first skater in the record, which combines two and a half rotations or 900° in the air.

Tony Hawk’s mother was Nancy, professor of a college and father was Frank Hawk, U.S. Navy officer (retired). Tony Hawk is the youngest of one brother, Steve, and two sisters, Lenore and Patricia Tony. Tony Hawk has declared himself as the "coolest kid". Tony Hawk wrote that he was desperate, unfocused, and fond of becoming aloof from the crowd.

Tony Hawk was 9 years old when one day his brother gave a start to his hidden skills, by giving him a fiberglass banana board, which is blue in color. Tony Hawk got married on April 1990 to Cindy Dunbar. But they got legally separated in 1993. Their son’s name is Hudson (Riley) Hawk, whose birthday is on December 6, 1992. Tony Hawk again tied his knot with Erin Lee from 1996 to 2004.

Spencer, born on 26 July 1999 and Keegan, born on 18 March 2001, are two sons from his second marriage. Tony Hawk married Lhotse Merriam on 12 January, 2005. The couple is currently expecting their first child, to be delivered in June 2008.

Air walk, Stale Fish, shuvit feeble grind, Gymnast Plant, Madonna, Frontside cab, Ollie 540, Frontside blunt, 720, Varial 720, The 900. All these tricks marked the upcoming level of his rise to fame, settling his status as a household name. Tony Hawk retired from competitive skateboarding after some time but is still skating and performing.

In 1994, the industry of skateboarding suffered a slowdown. The vertical skateboarding also became declined in popularity due to the hike of street skating. So, Tony Hawk ventured with ex-Powell Peralta pro Per Welinder in his Birdhouse Project, and it is presently popular as “Birdhouse Skateboards”.

Tony Hawk is also proprietor of his TV production and Film Company called 900 Film. Tony Hawk also started “Hawk Clothing”, including a footwear and apparel brand available majorly at Kohl's. Tony Hawk had also organised Boom Boom HuckJam tour which was among the most mentionable sports tour and included sports like BMX, skateboarding, and Freestyle Motocross.

The tour covered USA in the year 2003, 2004, and 2005 it consists of the tour Six Flags parks across the country. Tony Hawk also released a popular series of video game on skateboarding; named Tony Hawk's skateboarding or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater during the year 1999. In the year 2000, Tony Hawk penned downs his autobiography with the help of Sean Mortimer. It was named as HAWK: Occupation: Skateboarder. It took place in 18 numbers in the list of New York Times bestseller. After his autobiography, Tony Hawk then jotted down his next book, named Between Boardslides and Burnout, which was a road journal.

In March 2007, he produced his trendiest roller coaster which is named as Tony Hawk's Big Spin. Tony also ventured one non-profit organization or NGO, famous as Tony Hawk Foundation

Its objective is to provide financial and other kind of assistance to underprivileged people in order to design a skateboard parks. Having started in 2002, the Foundation donated several million dollars in order to assist as a grant and assistance. Tony Hawk has founded another organization called Athletes for Hope during the month of April in 2007. It is a public charity that was launched on ABC's Good Morning America and ESPN.
