The Oklahoma State Fair is one of the two large state fairs and expositions in Oklahoma that happens in mid- September every year in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The fair lasts for 11 days and pulls close to one million people. The enormous popularity of the fair has continued to grow every year. This year Oklahoma State fair is scheduled to run from September 14th to September 24th, 2017.
An Oklahoma state fair organization was founded in 1907. The initial state fairs focused on agriculture and farming. Stage entertainments, animal and livestock competitions carnival rides, vaudeville acts, and derbies were an integral part of these fairs even at the beginning stage.
Agriculture and livestock are major attractions at Oklahoma State Fair. Livestock competitions, rodeos, and horse shows have been a major attraction of this event.
