"The Twelve Days of Christmas" was written in England to imbibe the teachings of faith and worship among the young Catholics. It was written during the time when preaching or worshipping Christianity was a punishable offence.

White Christmas history
The white Christmas has its origin in the early 1940. It is a beautiful and mesmerising song composed by Irving Berlin, a Jewish Immigrant. He stayed up all night to compose this white Christmas song.
This song was included in a 1942 movie "Holiday Inn" starring Bing Crosby and Fred Berlin. The song bagged the Academy Award for the best song. Later the verse was dropped but the chorus was still retained.
German Christmas history
The Germans celebrate Christmas on December 24.The Christmas in Germany dates back to the era when St Boniface journeyed from England to Germany. In Germany he came across a group of pagans who were worshiping an oak tree. St Boniface couldn't bear the sight of them worshipping an oak tree. He got furious and chopped the tree into pieces. This marked the death of Paganism and Birth of Christianity.

The Mexican Christmas history
The Mexican Christmas originated in the 17th century when a Spanish Missionary Fray Pedro de Gante pioneered Christmas in the continent. Since then the festival is celebrated with great passion. Some of the major aspects of Mexican Christmas celebrations include-
- 1) The Mexican Christmas History is initiated with Las Posadas. It is a nine consecutive days of candlelight processions and lively parties starting December 16.
2) Another event of importance is Las Pastoreals. It is a traditional theatrical performance of the Biblical stories.
Christmas history pagan
The Pagan Christmas history unfolds the clear foundation on which the modern day Christmas celebrations are based. In ancient Babylon, December 25th was celebrated as Yule Day or Holy Child Day. This day marked the birth of the saviour who was born to help the people so that they can come out from misery and darkness.
