The countdown to the London Olympics has started with the game is just 441 days away and preparations are in full swing now. The third Olympic park is completed. Prime Minister David Cameron and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg used the occasion to announce their agenda of adopting new measures to support youth employment.
‘That this great venue has been completed on time and within budget is testament to the hard work, expertise and skills of the Olympic Park workforce. We are on track to stage a fantastic Olympic and Paralympic Games in London next summer.’ Prime Minister David Cameron said.
Construction at the Olympic arena began since July 2009. The venue has special features like unique copper cladding, natural lighting shafts and multicolored seating. The special feature is the lower tier is retractable.
‘The Handball Arena milestone is another example of just how far we have come since construction started on the Olympic Park three years ago. The arena is compact, sustainably built and will provide an excellent sports and community venue for London long after the Games are over,’ Olympic Delivery Authority Chairman John Armitt said.
Olympic Mascots Wenlock and Mandeville have been making the rounds around London .Their appearances at various places has people all geared up for the upcoming event.
