Police arrested a Hearts section fan as he reportedly tried to attack Celtic manager Neil Lennon when the game was on against Hearts on Wednesday night at Tynecastle stadium.
The culprit is said to have clambered from the Hearts section on to the pitch and tried to hurt Lennon who was on the touchline. The fan was taken away by the police after the conflict ended.
Earlier, Lennon has also received threats and in recent weeks parcel bombs were sent to him.
The incident on Wednesday took place after Celtic player Gary Hooper performed fittingly and put the visitors two goals ahead. The fan then made his attempt to attack Lennon before the game could start again.
Trouble started in the Celtic section of the stadium as supporters started to clash with police and stewards.
"A number of incidents took place during this match including some violent disorder. Lothian and Borders Police will fully investigate all of the incidents that occurred at the match this evening and will work closely with both football clubs and the SPL," said a police spokesman.
