Former German Minister Accused of Plagiarism in PhD Dissertation

Former Defense Minister of Germany Karl-Theodorzu Guttenberg, who had to resign from his post due to a breach of copyright scandal,has cheated intentionally, reveals his university.

In an investigation, Bayreuth University has found thatKarl-Theodor zu Guttenberg had "extensively violated academic standardsand intentionally cheated."

A statement released by the university reads that Gutttenberg had "crudelyabused and intentionally deluded the standards of sound academicpractice".

However, the minister has denied these allegations of plagiarism as they firstearthed in last February, terming them as ‘absurd’.

Later, Gutttenberg insisted that ifthere is anything found copied in the dissertation, he had not done itintentionally.

The former minister had to quit hispost in last March, as it was found that he has copied a larger portion ofcontent for the 475-page thesis prepared on constitutional law.

Gutttenberg is considered as one of the most charismatic and popularpoliticians of Germany.
