First lady of FranceCarla Bruni has been "longing for a baby for three years", said their family priest,Father Silvano Bellomo.
This statement hasintensified the speculations over 43-year-old former supermodel’spregnancy. Reports even state that Carla may deliver twins in coming October.
In an interview with adaily newspaper, when asked about the first lady’s pregnancy, FatherBellamo, priest of the Paris suburb of Triel-sur-Seine said, "It's notsomething I want to go into. But I can tell you that she has been wanting a baby for threeyears, adding "She even prayed for one during a recent visit to India."
Father Bellamo is theperson who baptised Carla and her boy friend Raphael Enthoven’s sonAurélien nine years ago.
He said, "Ifanother child arrives at the Elysee palace, I'll be available to do that one too,"
Meanwhile,Carla-Bruni-Sarkozy has given up smoking and has also discarded plans to appear on the redcarpet at the Cannes Film Festival, igniting claims that her baby bump may now beclearly noticeable.
However, she doesn’twant to make any official announcement on this matter for many reasons.
"I am remainingtight-lipped about that to protect something. I would really like to talk about it, butthen it would take over everything else. And besides, it also involves people, soI'm not answering," she said the newspaper in an interview.
