World disability day 2015 date is December 3
Disability means that person having problem in doing his or her work. This can be physical or mental. In physical case, a person’s body part not working effecientially and that person is physically handicapped. And the person who is not able to use his mind properly is mentally handicapped. When a person suffers this disability he or his family members leave them to live an isolated life. We, the normal people made them feel that they are different from others and because of grief, sadness results into depression, sometimes aggression.
Now science has developed to such an extent that many school and centres are opened who work for these disable people. They teach them, give knowledge about the world, teach those etiquettes and at last prepare them in such a way that a person can lead a normal, settled life. Vidya sagar is a NGO who is working for this work. They are illuminating the lives of these disabled children, young people and elderly people by giving proper awareness about the social and moral life. They also organise rallies and camps on ‘World Disability Day’ in which many students, supporters, staff members take an active part.
But still there are many parts of the world where disability is ignored and families hide their disable child from society or leave them in any orphanage. They are not looked respectfully and not given any permission to participate in any social activity. They still have to struggle for their rights and freedom. If one tries to lead a normal and peaceful life then also this cruel society creates hindrance on his way avoiding him to survive.
Therefore, disability day is dedicated in order to improve the condition of disabled people. 'International Day of Disabled Persons’ is celebrated in each country, community and group to support the disable people as well as to create the awareness among people to give their assistance in order to improve their conditions. In this, camps and rallies take place for physically and mentally handicapped people. The main aim of this day is to provide with new information and technologies which are made for all people. But because of their less participation in this field they cannot take the full benefit it. Therefore this is a day to help the disabled to take them out in light from the corner of their house and to make all people aware about that they are part of the society.
There are many examples which show the light that despite of being physical or mental handicapped there are many people who had been successful and we are using their invention. One is Albert Einstein. Another example is Helen Keller who was deaf and blind. She fights against her disability and become a world famous speaker and author. Hence disability does not come from mind or body it is the thought that makes us disable.
Disability is a matter of perception. If you can do just one thing well, you're needed by someone.
