What is Therapeutic Transplantation?

Therapeutic transplantations are techniques where cells, tissues or organs are transplanted to offer relief from disease conditions among chronically ill patients. There are many types of transplants. If there is an organ failure then organs from a donor are transplanted into the patient, for example kidney transplant. If some tissues are damaged or not functioning properly then a normal tissue from a donor are isolated and implanted in the patient so that these cells produce the required biochemical and cure the disease. Islet transplantation is an example of this. Cell transplant is transfer of healthy cells which will grow in the patient to form a healthy tissue to cure the disease. Stem cells are an example of this.
