- 3 medium sized potatoes
- 1 cup of curd or yogurt
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- ½ tsp coriander / dhania powder
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp garam masala powder
- 2 pinches of Asafoetida
- 1 sprig of curry leaves
- 1 Tbsp of chopped coriander leaves
- ½ tsp grated ginger
- ½ tsp grated garlic
- 2 green chillies
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- ¼ tbsp wheat flour
- 1 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- 1 ½ cups of water
Potato In Curd Gravy Preparation Method
The procedure of preparing potato in curd gravy is as follows:
- Boil the potatoes and peel them.
- Cut the potatoes into big pieces and mash a few pieces.
- Mix the masala powders in ¼ cup of water.
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin and mustard seeds.
- When they crackle, add the curry leaves, slit green chillies and the ginger and garlic.
- Add the masala water and then add beaten curd.
- Stir continuously till the curd loses its whiteness.
- Add water, mashed as well as unmashed potato, wheat flour and salt.
- Stir well so that the flour does not form lumps.
- Boil and heat on low flame till the gravy thickens.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Potato in curd gravy can be served either with chapathis or rice.
