History of Plastic Surgery

The history of plastic surgery owes mostly to the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASPRS). The modern history of plastic surgery started in the 1960s and 70s era. Purpose of Plastic Surgery

There are many causes to opt for plastic or cosmetic surgery:

Types of Plastic Surgery

There are usually two types of plastic surgery which are mostly prevalent these days.

Cosmetic Surgery: In this type of procedure individual may wish to improve their look. They may be not attractive and may have been humiliated for their physical feature. Cosmetic surgery focuses on the face and the centre part of the body like chin enhancement, implantation of the chin, abdominoplasty for the stomach, breast augmentation for breast reworking, blepharoplasty for eyelid, buttock augmentation for buttocks correction, face lift for wrinkle elimination, rhinoplasty for nose correction and of course the popular liposuction for removal of fats from belly, thighs and buttocks.

Reconstructive Surgery: This procedure is entirely different from cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive surgery is performed to fix the irregularity in the body. These defects could be birth defects like webbed toes and fingers, cancerous diseases, cleft palate, removing of tumors, amputations due to diabetes or accidents, or removal of breast to inhibit cancer tissue to disseminate and cut down complications.

There is also nonsurgical therapy like Botox injection that offers smoother skin, hair removal facilitating laser and restylane.
