Paneer Bhurji Ingredients

  • Mashed paneer – 300 grams
  • Spring onions (chopped) – ½ cup
  • Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Finely chopped green chillies – 2
  • Capsicum (diced) - 1
  • Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Asafetida – a pinch
  • Chopped tomatoes – 2
  • Cooking oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Salt to taste

Paneer Bhurji Preparation Method

  • Heat the oil in the kadhai until the fumes begin to appear.
  • Fry the green chillies and asafetida for about 15 seconds.
  • Add the mustard seeds and fry until they begin to splutter.
  • Add spring onions, and fry for about 1 minute.
  • Add the tomatoes and capsicum, and mix in turmeric powder and salt.
  • Fry the entire mixture for about 3 to 4 minutes, until the oil begins to separate.
  • Add the paneer and continue to fry along with the other ingredients for another minute or two.
  • Remove from the flame and serve hot along with chapattis or puris.
  • Paneer bhurji also goes well with rice either fried or simply plain, boiled rice.
