Xenotransplantation is the process where the living cells of one species is taken and planted in those of another. This procedure is commonly used for harvesting certain cells from animals and planting them in human beings for medical purposes. Xenotransplantation is a technique which is being considered because of the shortage of human donors for organ and tissue transplantation.
There is an ethical and sociological argument going on that xenotransplantation is unnatural. This cause has been actively taken up by the Church and other religious organizations. Another major concern is that current experiments on xenotransplantation involve pigs as donors which will seriously hurt the religious sentiments of certain religious groups. We can safely say that xenotransplantation is definitely unnatural. What remains to be seen is whether and how it is going to be inducted into society as an acceptable medical procedure.
