Goan Vindaloo Ingredients

  • ½ kg- Pork (chopped into medium size)
  • 2 Large onions (finely chopped)
  • 10- Garlic flakes
  • 10- Pepper Corns
  • 1- Ginger
  • 1 tsp- Cumin seed powder
  • 1/4 tsp- sugar
  • 1/2 tsp- Vinegar
  • ½ tsp- Mustard seed powder
  • ½ tsp- Cinnamon powder
  • 2- Red chilies
  • Salt to taste
  • 2- Cups of water
  • 1- peg of coconut Feni

Preparation Method for Goan Vindaloo Recipe

Goan Vindaloo (pork) is an integral part of Goan cuisine. So let’s see how this dish is prepared. Once all the ingredients are ready keep them aside. Now put ginger, garlic and pepper corns in a mixer and grind it into a smooth paste. After grinding for a while, add mustard seed powder, cumin seed powder, salt, red chilies, vinegar, sugar and cinnamon powder and grind it again till it becomes into a fine paste.

Now wash the pork well and marinate it with this masala. Keep it aside for about 1 hour. In another pan heat some oil and add the chopped onions. Keep tossing till it turns light brown. Once the pork is marinated, add it into this pan. Mix it well with the onions and keep frying till the pork becomes tender.

Now add a few drops of vinegar and coconut feni to the pork. Cook it for a couple of minutes. Your Goan Vindaloo (pork) is ready and can be served with hot steamed rice.
