  • Eat more and more healthy food to expedite the curative process.

  • Someone should be there to drive you to and from the hospital on the day of operation.

  • Ask someone to stay at home to help you in doing household works.

Precautions After Breast Augmentation Surgery

You have to take precautions even after the surgery to accelerate the healing process:

  • Take sponge bathe until your incisions are completely closed and the stitches are not inside any more.

  • To ensure better results, wear surgical bra 24 hours a day for approximately 1 month.

  • Stitches should come out within 7 or 10 days of the operation.

  • Keep a daily record of your body temperature as the rising body temperature could lead to infection.

  • Keep yourself away from stressful activities for at least 3 to 4 weeks could be one of the contributing factors for the increased blood pressure, which in turn, may result in bleeding.

Recovery of Breast Augmentation Surgery

Precautions are needed not only before and after the breast augmentation surgery. It is equally important to continue with the process during the recovery period of time as well.

It may take a few days, weeks or months, or so to get complete recovery after the surgery. Hence you have to help yourself to be able to lead a normal life soon. The following are some of the precautions you must take throughout the recovery period:

  • For about 3 weeks after the surgery, disengage yourself  from taking up heavy works. Confine yourself to reading magazines and watching television etc.

  • Do not bend your body as it may put pressure on the surgery wound. It is advised to keep daily-use things at easily reachable places.

  • Application of soft ice packs or frozen peas packets to the aching areas may be helpful.

  • Wearing seamless cotton sports bra with hooks in front is recommended in the post-surgery period.

  • Sexual intercourse is a strict NO for you as it may lead to swelling of the surgery injury.

You cannot get the expected results immediately after the breast augmentation surgery. You have to wait for about six months to be in the desired shape. Hence, follow all the instructions given by your health care provider so that you recover in time as indicated by the doctor.
