This cobra pose is said to be the beginning pose because it is the easy pose among all. The new yoga trainers should start with this pose as they find comfortable in adopting it and it provides flexibility to the body. If anyone new to this will adopt the complex and tough yoga, they will find difficulty in doing it and it may be possible that they may not take any interest in doing any pose. This is the fundamental pose which provides you energy and flexibility. It is also said as baby backbend and therefore lays the foundation for the bigger and tougher yoga poses. First of all, the person should lie down on his belly, take a long breath, then keeping both the elbow under your shoulder and then with the forearm feel the back bend and then exhale. Then keeping both the legs parallel to each other, stretch your legs outward then rotate your legs using your outer thighs towards the wall. Stretch your spinal cord and feel that your skin is breathing and new flow of energy is entering in your body. Try to hold this pose for 15-30 seconds for proper benefits. Come back to normal by exhaling the breath.
This pose is best for all types of people because it benefits are lot. But still some patients should avoid this pose as it is well said that precautions are better than cure. The patient suffering from back injury should avoid this pose because it puts stress on the back muscles. Also pregnant women should not do this pose as it may be dangerous for their baby. The person who has problem of migraine should also avoid doing this pose.
