Since the preparation is quite easy, let’s see how it is made. In a shallow bowl, mix besan, 1/8 tbsp red chili powder, 2 green chilies, carom and 1 tbsp oil. Add some water and make dough out of it and then make small balls. Keep them aside.
Now with the help of a rolling pin, take each ball and make them into 1 diameter round, and 6 inches long. In another utensil take some water and keep it for boiling. When the water starts boiling, put these in boiling water for about 8-10 minutes. After that, take them out and once it cools, cut the besan into small round pieces.
In a cooking pan, heat some oil and add 2 green chilies, cumin seeds and asafetida. Stir till it gets brown. Once it turns brown, add some mustard paste, garlic paste and fry for a minute. After this, add chopped onions, tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt and 1.5 cups of water. Allow this to boil for 5-6 minutes.
Once the gravy is ready add the besan in it and boil it for 5 minutes. It should be boiled till the gravy becomes thick. Your besan (gatti) ki sabzi is ready and you can serve it with hot rice or paratha.
