So what is Myrrh
Myrrh is a resin derived from the sap of the Myrrh tree. The Myrrh tree loves the desert environment and grows easily in dry, sandy and hot climate of Somalia, eastern Ethiopia.
Myrrh means bitter and in ancient times myrrh was worth its weight in gold and sometimes even more than that.
Myrrh is valued for its fragrance. It also has medicinal properties and a long list of ailments it can help cure.
Myrrh oil is used in making perfumes and incenses.
Myrrh stimulates the circulatory and immune system. Myrrh is also anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-catarrhal, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and anti-spasmodic.
Myrrh is effective in the treatment of arthritic, bronchitis, coughs and colds, digestive problems and mouth odors. Myrrh can help treats coughs, wounds, an overactive thyroid and scanty menstruation. Myrrh is used as a natural analgesic, expectorant, and astringent.
Who can benefit from taking Myrrh
Myrrh can be taken internally by people suffering from stomach problems, chest problems, menstrual problems or bronchial infections.
Myrrh can be used externally on wounds, minor skin inflammations, sinusitis, gingivitis, mouth ulcers, and for bronchial problems.
The vapor form of myrrh helps in bronchitis, catarrh, cold and cough. It can also be mixed with the bath oil or massage oil for these symptoms.
