Disadvantages of Breast Augmentation

  • Some women are sensitive to local anesthesia and develop allergy in the post-surgery period. Few of them develop severe complications due to adverse affects of anesthesia.

  • The woman loses sensation in breast or nipple area.

  • Lactating may prove to be a difficult proposition in future for woman once she undergoes breast augmentation surgery.

Side-effects of Breast Augmentation

Apart from advantages and disadvantages, the breast augmentation surgery has the following side-effects:

  • The surgery will leave a permanent scar in the breast area. Women who are ready to lead their rest of life with that scar should undergo the surgery.

  • Breast implants have chances of bursting. It may be fatal. Hence, it is important to remove ruptured implants as soon as possible. It leads to another surgery and many other complications.

  • The uttermost disadvantage of breast augmentation is development of infections in the breast implants. The moment one experiences  infection then she should go for instantaneous removal of the implants. It may be noted that the process of operation on the breast implants and putting them back again is very much painful.

There is no denying fact that breasts are one of the most important features of a woman’s physique. Hence, before going for a critical surgery like breast augmentation, it is always advisable to be well aware of its pros and cons.
