Mocha Truffles Ingredients

 

  • Semisweet chocolate chips – 24 ounces (2 packages)
  • Instant coffee granules – 3 tablespoons
  • Dark chocolate candy coating (roughly chopped) – 1 pound
  • Cream cheese (softened) – 8 ounces (1 package)
  • Water – 2 teaspoons
  • White candy coating (optional) – to alternate with dark chocolate candy

Preparation Method

 

  • Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.

  • Melt the chocolate chips until they get a smooth consistency.

  • Mix in the coffee, cream cheese and water. 

  • Refrigerate until the mixture becomes malleable.

  • Form balls of 1” diameter with the mixture.

  • In another microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate coating until it gets a smooth consistency.

  • Dip the balls into the chocolate and hold over the liquid to drain off the excess chocolate.

  • Put the balls on waxed paper on a baking sheet and keep them standing until set.

  • If desired, drizzle white chocolate over the truffles.
