Quick And EasyDutch Apple Salad Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 egg
- 2 large Golden Delicious apples, chopped
- 2 large Red Delicious apples, chopped
- 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
- 1/2 cup seedless red grapes, quartered
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
Dutch Apple Salad Preparation Method
- Use a saucepan and add flour and sugar and add milk gradually in the saucepan. Make sure that it is smooth and stir over medium flame. The mixture will become thick and bubbly. Stir for another 2 minutes after this and remove the pan from the flame.
- Stir a small amount of egg and add it into the pan again. Gently stir for another 2 minutes and then remove from the heat.
- Collect the content into a bowl and let it cool on room temperature. Cover the bowl and put it in refrigerator and let it cool for some time.
- Just before serving add the apples and mix them so that the pieces are coated with the syrup. Add celery also to the bowl and toss gently so that the pieces do not break.
