Barbecued Shrimp Ingredients

  • 1 pound Jumbo shrimp which is raw 
  • ¼ tablespoon black pepper
  • ¾ tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin 
  • ¼ tablespoon allspice
  • ¼ tablespoon cayenne paper for taste
  • Lemon wedges

Barbecued Shrimp Preparation Method

  • Rinse the shrimp well and drain all the excess water. 
  • Take a bowl and combine all the ingredient mentioned above and mix well. Toss the same till the brown sugar is dissolved completely.
  • Now tap the mixture on the shrimp and cover it well and very gently and evenly spread the mixture all over the shrimp.
  • Cover the shrimp and refrigerate it for about 15 to 20 minutes; so that it is set well.
  • Now preheat a skillet and leave it till it gets warm. 
  • Take out the shrimp from the refrigerator and uncover it and let it come to the room temperature for few minutes.
  • Now heat the shrimp with sear for about 3 to 5 minutes in the preheated skilled till it gets cooked. 
  • The shells may get charred and turn into brown colour but meat inside is not yet cooked therefore leave it in the same position & don’t worry about the outside colour it may get darker as it gives an effect that they may be cooked or grilled in coal.
  •  Once cooked well remove the shrimp into a plate and let it get cooled for few minutes. 
  • Serve it warm with lemon.
