There are a few clinics in Ohio – the Safety Net Clinics – which provide dental services and other treatments. These are available through the local health department, community centers, hospitals or other organizations in each community. Programs usually help people who are covered under Medicaid by offering fee schedules on a sliding scale, reduced fees in many cases or even free for those who cannot afford it.
The program in Ohio does not have special clinics – but the funding is given to select agencies to provide the requisite care. The Safety Net Clinics website has a lot of information on how to find the nearest clinic, how to get the right care etc. This program also offers dentists an opportunity to volunteer their services to help the community.
