Purpose of the tests
Liver function tests consist of numerous tests. Different tests have different purposes. These tests help a person to know whether he/she has any liver diseases or kidney diseases. They also help identify if the person has any cancer of the liver or the kidney.
An Albumin test is conducted in order to measure the protein Albumin in the liver.
Alpha-1 test measures the level of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin in the blood in the liver.

When the test can be done?
Liver function tests are a part of the annual health check up package for most individuals who are aged between 35 and 40. It is a necessary test pack which should be done annually.
In case ones skin and eyes are yellow and feel they may have Jaundice, these tests will help support for the diagnosis of Jaundice.
Even if the person has problems with his/her digestion and appetite, they need to have check up.
If the color of the stool and the urine is not normal and if the person has headache and fever, Liver function tests must be undertaken.
