Important Information about Trileptal

  • Trileptal generic name is oxcarbazepine
  • Trileptal is one among anticonvulsants which is used in the treatment of partial seizures in the adults and epilepsy in children
  • It must be stored at room temperature and keep away from moisture and heat
  • Do not use this drug if you are allergic to oxcarbazepin
  • Inform your doctor in advance if you have liver disease and kidney disease

Side Effects:

  • Sore throat and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash
  • Jaundice
  • Fever, swollen glands, flu-like symptoms
  • Easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness
  • Urinating less than usual or not at all
  • Increased seizures

Less serious Trileptal side effects may include:

  • Mild nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea
  • Problems with speech, balance, or coordination
  • Blurred vision
  • Mental slowness, trouble concentrating
  • Tremors or shaking
  • Dizziness, drowsiness
  • Skin rash
