Important Information about Enbrel

  • Enbrel generic name is etanercept
  • Enbrel is used in the treatment of the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, or ankylosing spondylitis
  • It also prevents the body from the knee damage from these conditions
  • It must be stored at room temperature and keep away from moisture and heat
  • Inform your doctor in advance if you have weak immune system, infection, diabetes, hepatitis B, allergic to latex rubber and scheduled to receive any vaccine

Side Effects of Enbrel are:

  • Shortness of breath with swelling, rapid weight gain
  • Chest pain, ongoing cough, coughing up blood
  • Easy bruising or bleeding, pale skin, unusual weakness
  • Signs of skin infection such as itching, swelling, warmth, redness, or oozing
  • Black, bloody, or tarry stools
  • Changes in mood or personality
  • Numbness, burning, pain, or tingly feeling
  • Joint pain or swelling with fever, swollen glands, muscle aches, chest pain, unusual thoughts or behavior, and/or seizure
  • Patchy skin color, red spots, or a butterfly-shaped skin rash over your cheeks and nose

Less serious Enbrel side effects may include:

  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain
  • Runny or stuffy nose, cold symptoms
  • Headache
