  • Boniva generic name is ibandronate
  • Boniva is one among the bisphosphonates which is used in the treatment of osteoporosis in women after menopause
  • It must be stored at room temperature and keep away from moisture and heat
  • Do not use this drug of you cannot sit upright or stand for at least one full hour
  • Inform your doctor in advance if you have any low blood calcium, vitamin D deficiency, and ulcer in stomach or esophagus

Side Effects of Boniva :

  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty or pain when swallowing
  • Pain or burning under the ribs or in the back
  • New or worsening heartburn
  • Severe joint, bone, or muscle pain
  • Jaw pain, numbness, or swelling

Less serious side effects of Boniva may include:

  • Redness or swelling of your eyes
  • Diarrhea
  • Flu symptoms
  • Redness or swelling where the medicine was injected
  • Nausea or upset stomach
  • Pain in your arms or legs
