It is a crime procedural drama, created by Hart Hanson aired on Fox TV since 2005 till date. The show focuses on the mystery of death by bringing the remains of the death to the table of an anthropologist. The show is said to be inspired by the life of forensic expert Kathy Reichs who also happens to produce the show. The “Angela or”- a holographic projector replaces the flashbacks in this show which is unlike any other criminal proceedings drama aired. Bones has dark humour as well as character development which makes the series unique in its own special way.

The concept & Cast

The show is based on collaboration of ex-Army Ranger turned FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) who has a knack for finding clues in the bones of murder victims. Dr. Brennan is based in Washington D.C where she works in Jeffersonian Institute. Dr. Brennan can read clues on the victim’s body even when the body is decomposed or burnt. Though Mr. Booth’s and Dr. Brennan are from different league of thinking, yet their uncanny pairing and skills help solve the mysterious cases.

Apart from the duo, Dr. Brennan’s team consists of her best   friend Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin), an artist who specializes in reconstructing facial features and crime scenes, Dr. Jack Hodgins (TJ Thyne), a conspiracy theorist and expert on insects, spores and minerals who is also the husband of Angela, DR. Lance Sweets (John Francis Daley), a brilliant young FBI psychologist, who lends professional expertise to Booth & Dr. Brennan in profiling the cases.
The cast also includes DR. Camillie "CAM" Saroyan (Tamara Taylor) who controls all the others in his purview.

Bones Season 7:

The present season (season 7) shows how Booth & Brennan, both radically different people deal with the news of Brennan’s pregnancy and the issues surrounding the upcoming child of both alongside a series of gruesome crimes. This season will show how the uncanny pair solves a string of murder which is designed by a tech savvy enemy to malign their name and humiliate them.


  • There were 2 & 3 nominations respectively for Bones at the 37th  & 38th People’s Choice Awards.
  • In 2006 the lead actress Emily Deschanel was nominated for best actress in the category of Television Series Drama.
  • Bones is the winner of two Genesis Awards.
  • At the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards Bones was nominated for Outstanding Art Direction for a Single Camera Series.
