The show revolves around the professional and personal lives of interns Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), George O'Malley (T. R. Knight), Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) and Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh)who were initially mentored by Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), a senior Resident who becomes the hospital's Chief Resident and later becomes an attending general surgeon. Senior resident Miranda Bailey a.k.a “The Nazi” is in charge of all the five interns.The drama has been appreciated widely for introducing the concept of color-blind casting,the credit of which goes to the executive producer Shonda Rhimes.
After a long, hard struggle, Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) are finally together. The staff of Seattle Grace is trying to save the lives of Izzie Stevens and George O'Malley. Tough-loving Dr. Miranda Bailey is entangled in her own battles and is on the verge of losing her husband due to her career. Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) has a troubled relation with her on-again-off-again boyfriend Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) .Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) is fighting for her family's respect and support as her new relationship with Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) is going steady.The story also talks about Mark Sloan(Eric Dane) and his pursuit of becoming a better man and Richard Webber(James Pickens,Jr) ,the chief,whose sole aim is keep the hospital running succesfully.
Grey’s anatomy is high on emotional quotient and can make the audience laugh with joy or cry with pain as the world class surgeons fight a continuous battle of saving lives of patients and dealing with their own personal trauma.
