Pratt Institute

Pratt Institute is situated in the New York City with two campuses that are located in Manhattan and Brooklyn. It is a focused private college and is considered to be among the top art schools in the U.S. it offers courses in architecture, art, fashion design, illustration, creative writing, digital arts and a lot of other fields.

Pratt Institute is also a member of the (AICAD) Association of Colleges of Art and Design and a conglomerate of 36 top art schools in the U.S.

Pratt Institute Campus

The Pratt Institute has a closed campus with four entry gates, out of which two closes in the evening. It has its main gate at the Willoughby Avenue and it is watched over by a security post day and night.

Pratt Institute campus buildings include the Dekalb Hall, Library, ISC Building, Main Building, East Hall, North Hall, Student Union, Memorial Hall, Chemistry Building, Engineering Building, Steuben Hall, Pratt Studios and the ARC building.

Accommodation is also available for the faculty inside the campus. There is also an off-campus building that includes the remodelled Higgins Hall where the Architecture studios are situated.

Residence Halls

All the students staying in the Residence Halls are supplied with extra-long twin beds, a dresser, chair and a drafting table. It is mandatory for the students to follow a fixed meal plan, who are staying in the on-campus dormitory although the ones who stay off-campus can opt to sign up for extra meal plans.

The Pratt Institute of Schools

The Pratt Institute has a diverse array of subjects to choose from. Primary there are five concentrations, namely the School of Architecture, the School of Art and Design, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Information and Library Sciences and the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Studies.

Under the school of architecture they offer courses both at the undergraduate and the graduate level. They also offer further divisions which are the Department of Construction Management and the Department of Facilities Management.

The school of Art and Design has plenty of programs to choose from and offers degrees both at the undergraduate and the graduate level.

The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences offer programs in the Department of English and Humanities, the Department of Math and Science, the Department of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies and the Department of Writing for Performance, Publication and Media. They also offer an Intensive English Program for the international students.
