'12 years a Slave' won best picture at 86th Academy awards on Sunday night which was directed by a black filmmaker. 'Gravity' from Mexican filmmaker received seven Oscar awards at this event including original score, cinematography, editing, visual effects, sound mixing and sound editing.

Jared Leto won best supporting actor for performing a transgender AIDS patient and business partner role with McConaughey in the film 'Dallas Buyers Club'. The Oscar honored Lupita Nyong'o with the best supporting actress for her role in "12 years a Slave". Spike Jonze got best original screenplay award for quirky romance 'Her'.
Frozen (for best animated film and best music) and The Great Gatsby (for best foreign feature and best costume design) received two trophies at 86th Academy awards. Martin in her acceptance speech thanked the whole team for the support. Honor for Animated short film went to Mr. Hublot and The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life received the Oscar award for best documentary short.
